Earlier this week, TikToker @paretay found herself the latest target of Mid Men’s internet ire after taking to the video-sharing platform with a true master class in efficiency — vlogging a recent evening in which she embarked upon a trio of first dates.
“I can’t stand men so I’m booking them one-hour slots at a time, three dates, one Friday night, let’s go!” she kicked off her video, which now has more than 49.1 thousand views on TikTok.
i have heard a ton of women do this a lot in nyc now—multiple dates per night. pic.twitter.com/rblgYY7Neq

While her first date didn’t pan out — “What a dud, works in finance, enough said,” she joked — her next rendezvous proved slightly more successful, getting off to a “good start,” the bachelor in question being “a little shorter” than she anticipated though still “super nice.” Her third date, however, didn’t continue this winning streak, the suitor in question purportedly joking about how he’d “fling” her cat “across the room” before leaning in for probably one of the least-warranted kisses in human history.
Even with this awkwardness, @paretay wouldn’t change a thing about her night. “You know what? I guess I don’t regret a thing,” she concluded the video before sprinting away.
Instead of lauding her for her creativity, patience and efficiency — traits many dorks frequently applauded in fellow mediocre men like Elon Musk and insufferable crypto bro Peter Thiel —, it seems her well-scheduled night on the town managed to spark backlash — one *definitely* not fueled by salty dudes likely realizing they couldn’t get one living, breathing human being, let alone three, to agree to date them.

“Must be nice,” wrote Twitter user @willnoonan, an actor best known for his bizarre regional Honda commercials.
“This is her ending her night,” noted Twitter Blue subscriber @MrStevenSteele alongside a GIF of the witch from Snow White descending into the floorboard.
Meanwhile others — especially those who understand the particularly hellish challenge that is navigating New York City’s dating scene — were seemingly less bitter, taking to the comments section to commend @paretay’s efforts.

“I don’t live in NYC anymore but I know this is the only way to date in NYC,” commented TikToker @moodbymichelle.
“I used to do this. Work smarter not harder,” added user @holler_at_me.
Meanwhile, others took issue not with her dates, but rather the act of turning her DIY speed dating into TikTok content.
“The multiple dates per night isn't weird the recording it is weird like guys this so weird lol she is reviewing humans,” noted author Bolu Babalola.
“gonna be real if I found out someone tiktok’d their date w me rating me I would kms,” added writer Erin Taylor.
Remember, date smarter, not harder … and maybe steer clear of TikTok while you’re at it.
